What are your office hours? Our offices are open daily, Monday-Friday, from 8:00 to 16:00 with the exception of the office in Kolárovo, which is open from 9:00 to 17:00. Where possible we try to adjust our opening hours to meet the needs of our clients and in order to offer our range of services to everybody. It is possible to request interpretation or translation services for languages that you do not currently offer? Our philosophy is to solve our clients’ problems and therefore we are prepared to find a suitable interpreter or translator for your needs. What is interpreting? Interpreting is the oral transfer of a spoken word from one language to another. What is translating? Translating is the written transfer of the text from one language to another. What does the abbreviation DTP mean? The abbreviation DTP stands for ‘Desktop Publishing’, which means text processing and preparation of the document for printing. What is included in Proofreading? Proofreading includes the quality control; language verification, both formality and content; and ensuring correct terminology of the translated document. It depends on the type of interpreter requested, because in the case of specialised tasks more time may be required to find a suitable interpreter. But in general, two days’ notice is sufficient to request an interpreter. What is the difference between attested and unattested translation? In the case of an attested translation a translator’s stamp is required; attesting to the correctness of the translation, because the documents are official documents (e.g. birth certificates, school leaving certificates). Unattested translation means that this stamp is not required e.g. translations for a web page, book or catalogue. What does Lingua Leader mean? The term “Lingua” comes from Latin and it means ‘language’ and the term “Leader” comes from English and it means ‘main’ or ‘principal’. To who and where can I address my questions? Which computer programmes are you using to improve your translations? We are using the translation software TRADOS, also used successfully worldwide. With the help of Trados it is possible to obtain a content concordance of the text. How can I request your services? You can request our services directly from our offices, by email, fax or courier service. It is possible to buy government stamps from your offices? Yes, it is possible to buy government stamps from our offices. Are you doing interpreting abroad? Yes, we do. If you are interested please contact one of our offices. Do you offer a discount for large tasks? Yes, we may consider a discount for larger tasks as well as for tasks requested by longstanding customers. Is it possible to complete a translation within 24 hours after requested? Yes, if the documentation does not exceed 10 pages. When was your company established? Our company was established in 2002 but we have substantially expanded our scope of activities during this year. In spite of this, we strive to offer our customers a high quality service. Are the translation tasks done at your offices? No, translations are carried out outside of our premises. Is it possible to send the completed translation by post? Yes, it is possible. |
